Tyburn Monasterio Puerta del Cielo, Vilcabamba, Ecuador
In answer to the urgent plea of the Franciscan Bishop of Loja, Ecuador, MONASTERIO PUERTA DEL CIELO was opened in 2002 as a Gate of Heavenly intercession. The Bishop wanted to have a contemplative community praying for the priests of his diocese and helping the population to find a more contemplative and prayerful way of Christian life. The monastery is situated high in the Andes of Ecuador near a little village called Vilcabamba, 1,565 metres above sea level.
