He tells us that this Lectio Divina Holy Reading strengthens us with “the three loaves of the Holy Trinity”. These three loaves of the Holy Trinity which have sustained and strengthened us in carrying out this mission are those three loaves of bread given to us in Jesus Christ:

1) The BREAD OF THE WORD OF GOD, which each day has been for us real inspiration and nourishment for mind and heart in this work/mission;

2) The BREAD OF THE WILL OF GOD, which has been broken and shared with us in constant prayer during these days of our searching;

3) The BREAD OF THE EUCHARIST, which has been our consolation and communion with you all who are united with us in this mission which will have important consequences for the Church in Colombia.

So we are confident that the eternal Father has enlightened us clearly as to what is his holy Will for us. So now we advise you that the hope sown in us by Beatriz Cock, Fathers Uriel, Eduardo and Heriberto Baena has borne fruit in a wondrous way: We have chosen the property called HOPE which is situated near the great dam from which is generated the electric energy supplying power and light for a large part of Colombia, as a place to establish this other centre of spiritual power and light our humble ecclesial, benedictine ministry for this great country of Colombia.

As you know well, this property of hope is near to the Monastery of Guatape and we count on the fraternal assistance of the benedictine monks of Guatape as also those of Medellin Envigado as they freely pledged this assistance to us in the first meeting with our Bishop.

The Dedication of our new monastery in Colombia is: Tyburn Monastery of the Divine Paraclete.

We will begin this new foundation in the month of July 2002. And to conclude we sing with joy “Let us praise the Lord: May the Lord be blessed for ever” AMEN. 16 April 2002.

WE GREET you all, our friends in Colombia, in the PEACE of Jesus Christ. We thank you warmly for your spiritual and material help during the months of discernment about the project of founding a Benedictine, feminine monastery in the Diocese of Sonson Rionegro. This same General Chapter mandated Mother Mary Xavier McMonagle and Mother Escolastica Berru Berru to visit this region and make the practical decisions concerning location and property for establishing this new foundation. For this reason we came to Colombia on 8 April 2002.

Since that date until today we have visited five different properties with interest, carefully considering each one in detail. As part of this work we examined attentively the different offers of land the first of these being that of our dear friend Beatriz Cock who offered us part of her property in Piedras Blancas which is called “Holy Mary of HOPE” in a place of marvellous beauty.

We have tried to fulfil the mission confided to us by our General Chapter in the spirit of our holy Father Benedict. We have been sustained in this process of discernment especially by the counsels of one of the Fathers of the Church when he speaks of monastic lectio divina.
