be held in common in our monastic family. We all share responsibility for the collective poverty of the community and are concerned with its economic affairs in the measure required. Thus, while living frugally taking care of everything we use and recycling almost everything, making goods for sale, and offering hospitality we generate a small income on which to live. In addition, our friends and benefactors generously support us and share in our mission of prayer, eucharistic adoration and reparation; and receive many blessings as the fruit of their generosity.
Our projects which require prayer and funding at the present time are: Tyburn Mission In Colombia: Construction of the remaining monastic buildings for the very happy reason that we are not able to accommodate the guests and retreatants because the community, novices and aspirants still have to live in the guest house. In Ecuador: The construction of more cells for the sisters accommodation as we do not have enough room for everyone. In Peru: We have begun the construction of an enclosure fence around our property, particularly for security purposes, but it is labour intensive and we do not have enough money to finish it yet. At Tyburn Convent: We need £368,000.00 for adaptations to the Convent entrance in order to comply with the Disability Access Act (see News and Events page). At Largs Monastery, Scotland: Repair of leaking roofs. |
